Nelson to speak at CCW meeting Monday

Connie Nelson will speak at Holy Redeemer Council of Catholic Women's meeting.

Mass will be at 5:30 p.m. in St. Mary's Chapel at Holy Redeemer School. Lunch will follow in the Faith Formation area.

Nelson of Long Prairie will speak at 6:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Chapel She will present "Behind Closed Doors," the story of her years of domestic abuse and how she survived.

All area men and women are invited to listen to Nelson. The quarterly CCW General Meeting will take place following Nelson's presentation. Call Arlene at 532-3912 for a reservation for lunch.

Sundaes on Sunday - a benefit for Corlys Knudson

Corlys Knudson, an associate in ministry at First Lutheran Church, continues to face the challenges of ongoing health concerns. A benefit to support her will be from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. If unable to attend, but would like to make a donation, donations may be sent to: First Lutheran Church, 100 Church St., Marshall, MN 56258. (Make checks payable to Thrivent.) Supplemental funds and volunteer hours contributed by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chapter 30598.

Election Day Dinner Nov. 2 in Russell

The 115th annual Election Day Dinner will be from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Grace First Parish in Russell. The menu includes turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, beets, coleslaw and desserts. The cost for adults is $8.50, children 5-10, $3.50 with 4 and younger, free. Carryout will be available. Attendees can also visit the country store.
