Avera Medical Group and Orthopedic Consultants/Alvine Foot and Ankle Center announce a new partnership effective Nov. 1.
"Avera and Alvine have always had a good relationship over the years," said Dave Flicek, Chief Administrative Officer of Avera Medical Group. "This partnership formalizes a relationship to offer orthopedic services to our patients, with the combined strength of two strong health care names."
The new entity will be called CORE Orthopedics Avera Medical Group. "CORE is an acronym for Center Of Regional Excellence and reflects our commitment to provide outstanding patient care, as we have done since 1968," said Dr. Greg Alvine.
The six physicians and four midlevels offer complete orthopedic care: Sports medicine including arthroscopic treatment of upper and lower extremity injuries or disorders, total joint replacement, comprehensive spine care, fracture care, treatment of complex foot and ankle disorders, complete hand/wrist care, onsite physical therapy, MRI, CT and bone density studies.
"Our patients will continue to receive the personal care they have come to expect, backed by the strength and resources of the largest health system in South Dakota," said Dr. Alvine.
This partnership helps Avera to offer a comprehensive array of orthopedic services, and complements existing programs, including sports medicine through the Avera Sports Institute, rehabilitation and joint replacement surgery.
