To the editor:
I'd like to thank all of our local election officials for their professionalism and hard work during this recount.
Now that the recount is winding down it looks like things will progress as anticipated. The numbers have continued in Dayton's favor with him keeping his lead. If there were any questions over the legitimacy of Dayton's substantial lead, they should be put to rest.
Let's just finish this recount so we can move on and focus on the important issues, like solving our $6.2 billion budget shortfall here in Minnesota.
It's time for Mark Dayton to be awarded his election certificate, so that he can be sworn in on Jan. 3 to help tackle the hard problems that Minnesota is facing; there's no more reason to delay.
