Knights of Columbus recognizes Myhre as Top Producer

Seth Myhre, a field agent with the Knights of Columbus, was recently honored as Agent of the Month for December in the Jelinek Agency in Southern Minnesota. He has been an agent since October 2008 and serves Knights of Columbus families in Minneota, Marshall, Tracy, Ivanhoe, Canby, Tyler/Lake Benton and surrounding area.

New OB/GYN to join ACMC-Marshall

Affiliated Community Medical Center announces that Yong Seung Lee, M.D., a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, will begin practicing in Marshall in July 2011. Lee will join ACMC's full team of healthcare specialists at ACMC in Marshall.

Lee received his bachelor of science in preliminary medicine and his doctor of medicine from Korea University, College of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. He is currently the chief resident in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Flushing, N.Y.

Duraiappa passes cosmetic dentistry accreditation test

Dr. Venkatraman Duraiappa of Marshall has successfully passed the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry's Accreditation Written Examination. The Accreditation Written Examination is the first step in the Accreditation process and challenges a dentist's or laboratory technician's foundational knowledge in cosmetic dentistry. This examination was administered in Grapevine, Texas during the 26th annual AACD Scientific Session.

Achieving Accreditation by the AACD requires dedication to continuing education, careful adherence to the protocols, and a resolve to produce exceptional dentistry. The AACD's Accreditation program for dentists and laboratory technicians is a three-part process consisting of a written examination, clinical case examinations, and an oral examination.

Janish awarded President's Club honor

Chris Janish, one of The Work Connection's (TWC) WIN program managers, was awarded the 2010 President's Club Award for her outstanding contributions to her client and TWC.

Janish is a WIN program manager (The Work Connection In-house Network) at TWC's largest client. Her home office is TWC's Marshall location.Janish manages more than 150 associates and is involved with the technical issues relating to TWC's biometric time keeping system. She is responsible for hiring, training, integration, and management of the workforce.

Murray County Medical Center hires orthopaedic surgeon

Murray County Medical Center in Slayton announces the addition of Dr. Joyce Tarbet to its medical staff.

An orthopaedic surgeon with a specialty in sports medicine, Dr. Tarbet graduated summa cum laude and received a bachelor of science degree with distinction from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. She earned her doctor of medicine from Queen's University. Tarbet completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada and a fellowship in arthroscopy and sports medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

As a sports medicine physician, Tarbet served as the team physician for the United States Women's National soccer team.
