Hello Mustang Fans!
Wednesday, the Mustang family lost a longtime SMSU supporter and Mustang Booster Club member with the passing of Ronald "Ronnie Mac" McLaughlin. Ronnie had a great passion for the university, our athletic teams, staff members and especially our student-athletes. He and wife, Marilyn, have been a constant at university, athletics department and booster club events. The thoughts and prayers of the Mustang family go out to Marilyn and the entire McLaughlin family. We will miss you dearly, Ronnie Mac.
This year's Gold Rush Raffle hosted by the Mustang Booster Club will be on Feb. 25 in the SMSU Conference Center ballroom. Tickets are just $50 each for your chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, call the athletic department at 507-537-7204.

Here is a rundown of the Mustang Booster Club and SMSU Athletics Department special events coming up in January and February:
- The SMSU men's and women's basketball teams will hold the 2nd Annual Alumni Basketball Weekend on Saturday. There will be an alumni basketball game featuring both men's and women's past players that will be played in the PE Gym at SMSU starting at 2 p.m.
How many years has the SMSU women's basketball team been hosting the Alumni Women's Basketball Weekend?
The first person to email me at MustangHoofPrints@SMSU.edu with the correct answer to this question will receive an SMSU t-shirt. The winner will be announced on The Saturday Morning Mustang Show between 9-10 a.m. on 1400 AM each week.
After the alumni game, participants can grab a Burger King Whopper and cheer on the SMSU women's and men's basketball teams as they take on Bemidji State. A social will be held following the men's game at Shay's and is sponsored by the men's and women's basketball teams along with the Mustang Booster Club.
New this year to the SMSU Alumni Basketball Weekend is "The Mustang Way," in honor and recognition of basketball teams and coaches who paved the way for SMSU basketball today.
