Hello Mustang fans!
One of the great SMSU traditions is upon us. This Saturday, the SMSU women's and men's basketball teams will host Winona State as part of the Hawaiian Night festivities here on the campus of SMSU. Hawaiian Night has become a regional attraction for families, area high school students and the Marshall and SMSU communities. It is a fun night where fans and students alike dress in their best Hawaiian outfit.
The Hawaiian Night environment in the R/A Facility is electrifying and provides our Mustang basketball teams a great home-court advantage. I would like to invite you and your family out to SMSU this Friday as the Mustangs host Upper Iowa University, and then the finale, when we host Winona State on Saturday for Hawaiian Night. Come support the Mustangs and enjoy great Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's and men's basketball.
Following Saturday's basketball games, all Mustang Booster Club members, alumni and friends are invited to the American Legion Hall for a social sponsored by the SMSU Alumni Association and Mustang Booster Club. The social will begin shortly after the Mustang men's basketball game this Saturday. Appetizers will be provided to all who are able to attend.
This year's Gold Rush Raffle, hosted by the Mustang Booster Club, will be on Friday, Feb. 25 in the SMSU Conference Center Ballroom. Tickets are just $50 each for your chance to win the grand prize of $5,000. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, call the athletic department at (507) 537-7204.
If you have not been to the Gold Rush Raffle, you should buy a raffle ticket and join us for a night of fun, friendship and laughter. Every year, the raffle gets great reviews from the people who attend. It is a mid-winter social event that you will not want to miss with cash prizes, giveaways, mystery prizes, games, and silent and live raffle items. The Gold Rush is sponsored by the Mustang Booster Club and has sold out all six years. For more information on the Gold Rush Raffle, please go to SMSUmustangs.com and click on the "Gold Rush Raffle" button on the right side of our webpage.
