Here's a thought for Feb. 25

Building muscle

We know that muscles grow by being used and put to the test. A bodybuilder strains the muscles by lifting weights and causing them to be pushed to their limit. The more muscles are used the stronger they get and the more endurance they have. The writer of the book of James in the Bible tells us "...whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything."(James 1:2-4) Just as strain and toil helps the bodybuilder build muscle so troubles can help a believing Christian build endurance and character.

Do you feel like trouble has come your way? Do you feel like your faith in God is being tested? The Apostle Paul tells us God always gives us the strength to get through the trouble. "No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it."(1 Corinthians 10:13) Don't complain but trust God and search for God's will in your trouble. God will show you God's will through prayer, Bible reading, and confiding in Godly Christian friends. The Holy Spirit has promised to comfort and guide you into all truth.

God tells us that testing should be seen as an opportunity to grow and develop into a stronger person with a stronger faith which will help you go through anything this world can throw. So, look for God's blessing in your struggle. Thank God and step out in faith.
