CDA spring luncheons Thursday in Slayton
The spring luncheons sponsored by the Catholic Daughters will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays at St. Ann's Hall, Slayton. The menu includes hot sandwiches, salads, homemade pie, milk and coffee. Easter discussion Tuesdays, Wednesdays
The community is invited to a four-week series beginning Tuesday titled "Why Easter? an Open discussion on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ." This series will make the case for why the death of Christ was necessary, and why His resurrection proves that God has accepted the sacrifice on the behalf of all who would believe. The series will cover topics such as the nature of man, the nature of God, the reason for the Cross, and the reason for resurrection. The series will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and at 7 p.m. Wednesdays at 200 E. College Drive Suite 160, and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the SMSU Student Center couches. National speaker to do presentations Tuesday
John Crudele, a national speaker who has presented to more than 4,500 audiences will present a morality program to Holy Redeemer School and Marshall High School Tuesday.
Crudele has been recognized as one of the top national speakers.
Piano concert Sunday at Church of Christ in Lamberton
The Lamberton Church of Christ will be the host of a piano concert at 7 p.m. Sunday. Bill Miller, who was a longtime music professor at Nebraska Christian College, will present the concert. Mission trip fundraiser Sunday at Applebee's
Twenty-four youth from Holy Redeemer Church will go on a mission trip to Chicago this summer to work with the community. They will have a fundraiser from 7:30-10 a.m. Sunday at Applebee's. The community is invited for pancakes, eggs, sausage, and juice. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for youth.
Passover presentation April 9 at Wesley United
Jesus' Last Supper was actually a Jewish Passover. Amer Olson of Jews for Jesus will re-create the traditional Passover service and explain how it foreshadowed Jesus' death and resurrection in a presentation called "Christ in the Passover" at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Wesley United Methodist Church.
