To the editor:
I was pleased at the response I received from local residents who attended the town hall meetings on April 18 and 19. Those in attendance presented me with thoughtful and diverse perspectives on the many issues facing the state legislature this year. The issues we discussed included health care, taxes, nursing home funding, and agriculture. This type of citizen input gives me the much-needed balance to make good decisions. The decisions the legislature makes this year will affect virtually every citizen in Minnesota from the youngest child to the most elderly senior citizen. I encourage your readers who were unable to attend the meetings to share with me their comments and ask questions regarding specific issues. Your readers can write me at 111 Capitol, St. Paul, MN 55155, call 651.296.8138, or send an email to sen.gary.dahms@senate.mn. I appreciate the many local citizens who gave of their time to share their views and ideas with me. It is a privilege to serve the residents of Brown, Redwood, Lyon, and Watonwan counties.
Gary Dahms
State senator, District 21
