Local student inducted into honors society
Alex Schoephoerster was part of a group of 70 students from the College of St. Benedict, St. Joseph, and St. John's University, Collegeville, accepted into the Theta of Minnesota Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa at CSB/SJU.
Schoephoerster is the son of Ronald and Betty Schoephoerster of Marshall. Schoephoerster is a senior Hispanic studies and political science double major at SJU.
Moe receives scholarship
Jacob Moe has received a $2,000 President's Honor Scholarship from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Moe is the son of Ernie and Shelly Moe of Ghent.
The President's Honor Scholarship awards $2,000 for the freshman year and requires a rank in the top 5 percent of high school class and a score of 28 or above on the ACT exam. It's renewable for a second year with a 3.5 GPA.
