Quarnstrom welcomes new attorney

Quarnstrom & Doering, P.A. Law Firm of Marshall announces the addition of a new associate attorney, Matthew B. Gross. Gross is originally from Dodge Center and is a 2009 graduate of the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Mich. He had recently been working with the Office of the Public Defender for the Third Judicial District in Mantorville. He will handle criminal prosecution for the city of Marshall as an assistant Marshall city attorney and also will practice in the area of family law.

Wyffels new Sports, Inc. board of director

Chad Wyffels, the owner of Borch's Sporting Goods in Marshall, was elected to the Sports Inc. Board of Directors at the Sports Inc. 2010 annual meeting.

Sports Inc. is a national sporting goods buying and marketing organization with 414 members operating more than 550 retail sporting goods location in 48 states.

Minnesota West given award of appreciation

Minnesota West Community & Technical College was given an Award of Appreciation from the Department of Homeland Security. Minnesota West Community & Technical College Customized Training in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security offered law enforcement training to Minnesota Peace Officers May 2 at the Minnesota West, Marshall MERIT Center where more than 30 force/firearm instructors from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa and Wisconsin participated in the "Use of Force Instructor Development."
