Modern-day slavery discussed Sunday in Ruthton
There are more than 27 million slaves in the world today, across the world 2 children are sold every minute, and human trafficking is the fastest growing illegal business in the world. The public is invited to learn more at 2 p.m. Sunday at Ruthton Community Center, Ruthton.
Carmen Gronewold serves with the World Mission Prayer League, a small mission based out of Minneapolis. She has found that people in the U.S. and Canada think of human trafficking as something that happens "over there" and are shocked to learn how involved our own countries are in this modern-day slavery.
The event is sponsored by Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton.
