To the editor:
Representative Chris Swedzinski has been a major asset as a legislator this year. He is a dad, husband and owner of a small business, and his common sense approach to legislation has allowed him to author bills that benefit not only his district but all Minnesotans.
Rep. Swedzinski's proven leadership skills helped the legislature to balance the budget while increasing funding to education by 3.2 percent and increasing funding for Minnesota nursing homes. Rep. Swedzinski has also been a strong voice in the Legislature for living within our means, we cannot continue to spend and spend. Although many legislators feel that government programs should receive an automatic increase each biennium, Rep. Swedzinski held the line and supported a budget that lives within our means. He knows that we cannot keep overspending and that government reform is necessary.
Although he is a first-time lawmaker, Rep. Swedzinski displays the leadership of a seasoned legislator. I would like to thank him for all of his hard work at the legislature and I look forward to working with him next year. Rep. Swedzinski has done a great job for his district 21A, and his constituents have much to be proud of.
