To the editor:
"Just Do It." When you hear those three words you automatically think of Nike's slogan. After participating in the wonderful Memorial Park dedication on Sunday, Sept. 11, I wanted to "do something" and thought about that slogan.
I realized that as Jan (Loft) read the names of those lost in the attacks why don't we help our local firefighters, police officers, sheriff's dept., highway patrol, EMS workers and of course, our troops. Those are the individuals that keep us fuzzy, warm and safe at night; something I feel we all take for granted. I encourage everyone to take a few moments and dig deep into your heart and send a check to honor those individuals that serve us in our local community.
So when we talk about service to our country, we talk about all that sacrifice in keeping our country safe and preserve the care and freedoms that we all hold dear.
Pick all of them, pick one of them. Just Do It...
