Parishes celebrate 2011 CCW recognition Sunday
The Rev. John LeVoir has proclaimed Sunday as Council of Catholic Women Recognition Sunday in the Diocese of New Ulm.
The National Council of Catholic Women is an organization of concerned women established by the Bishops of the United States more than 80 years ago to offer women the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the Church, strengthen their leadership skills and deepen their spirituality through prayer and service.
The mission of NCCW is carried out through the work of six commissions: church, community concerns, international concerns, family concerns, legislation and organization. In the Diocese of New Ulm two additional standing committees: scholarship and reverence life.
CCW Recognition Sunday is the day to highlight the activities and leadership carried out by Catholic Women. All parishes are encouraged to celebrate CCW Recognition Sunday.
