St. Stephen Lutheran Church
On Nov. 13, St. Stephen Lutheran Church will celebrate 50 years of "proclaiming and serving Jesus Christ" in Marshall (and around the world). The Marshall community is invited to an anniversary celebration event on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 13. We'll have a potluck lunch at 11:45 a.m. - the whole community is invited to bring a dish to share and celebrate with us. At 12:30 p.m., following the meal, we'll share in a brief program highlighting the great things God has done through St. Stephen over the past 50 years. All are welcome.
St. Stephen had its first worship service at East Side Elementary School on July 17, 1960, and has since served the community from two locations: on Camden Drive from 1960-1991, and our current location on South 4th Street.
Our 50th anniversary celebration began last fall with the construction and dedication of a new education wing, which included the new St. Stephen preschool - a need in the community that we are very excited to help meet. The new education addition has allowed St. Stephen to provide a space for many groups in the community to meet: support groups, scouting troops, social service organizations...in addition to the many community events we host in our worship space throughout the year, including piano recitals, concerts, speakers and more.
The ministry that happens through St. Stephen Lutheran Church is not limited to our members. We have a 50-year history of actively engaging in God's work in the Marshall community and the world, and that includes all people that God cares for - which is everybody.
Again, we invite you to help us celebrate 50 years of God's work through St. Stephen Lutheran Church - proclaiming and serving Jesus Christ. All are welcome on Nov. 13 - and if you are looking for a church home, you are welcome to worship with us at any time.
