To the editor:
The young author, Kevin, of a letter to the editor recently should be applauded for expressing his concerns about veterans being recognized in our schools. I can assure Kevin that Marshall High School did recognize veterans on Veterans Day.
The MHS Chapter of the National Honor Society sponsored a "Veterans' Wall" in the main hallway of the school. This wall was decorated with more than 300 red, white and blue stars that had names of veterans submitted by the student body.
Additionally, every class period watched common video clips that highlighted Medal of Honor recipients and their powerful, patriotic stories.
Not only were these activities meaningful but more importantly, these activities were spearheaded and planned by students.
Again, thank you, Kevin, for making sure that all of our schools are taking the time to honor our veterans.
