The Schwan Food Co. is closing an online grocery store in McAlester, Okla., the McAlester News-Capital newspaper reported on its website Thursday, the same day the company announced it will be laying off about 60 employees in its Marshall and Bloomington offices.
The Oklahoma closure, expected to happen in the next 30 days, will affect at least 10 employees, a news release said.
The online grocery store offers home delivery of products ranging from ice cream and dessert to meats and dairy, according to Schwans.com. The depot has been in operation for about 30 years, its manager said.
