To the editor:
I would encourage all your readers to read or re-read your two columns on driving safe - Per Peterson's and the Be Safe column from Dec. 17.
The one fear I have left in life is causing someone as much emotional pain as was caused my family and me by a negligent driver.
My wife of 25 years was killed 15 years ago - yes, we adapt, the pain lessens because we get used to it, but it never goes away for good. It's a train on a circular track (I read that somewhere - I'm not smart enough to think of that on my own.)
My daughter was 17 at the time and it still affects her. My son was 21, now the father of darling triplets who will never know their grandmother.
She was my best friend and I miss her.
