MARSHALL - Erik Steven Gniffke, 26, of Cottonwood appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 3 on charges of carrying a weapon without a permit and having an uncased firearm in a motor vehicle. A complaint alleges Gniffke possessed a handgun without a permit and an uncased shotgun in a vehicle on Oct. 15 in Lyon County. A hearing was set for Jan. 31.
MARSHALL - Gerald Lee Dammann, 52, of Jeffers, appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 3 on two counts of second degree driving while impaired charges. A complaint alleges Dammann drove with an alcohol level of .24 on Oct. 29 in Lyon County, and Dammann has a prior DWI conviction in 2009. A pre-trial hearing was set for Jan. 31.
MARSHALL - Shyla Janine Ellingson, 36, of Garvin appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 3 on charges of third degree driving while impaired - refusal to test, fourth degree driving while impaired, no proof of insurance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding. A complaint alleges Ellingson drove while impaired on Nov. 18 in Lyon County. The court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Jan. 17.
MARSHALL - Juan Andres Lara Ibarra, 30, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court Jan. 3 on charges of domestic assault and possession of drug paraphernalia. A complaint alleges Ibarra assaulted a woman on Dec. 8 in Marshall. A court found probable cause for the charges, and a hearing was set for Jan. 31.
MARSHALL - Matthew Leroy Grimmus, 25, of Chandler was sentenced in Lyon County District Court Jan. 3 for charges of first degree criminal property damage. Grimmus broke a window at a business on Aug. 28 in Marshall and caused more than $1,000 in damage, court records said. Grimmus was sentenced to one year in jail with 363 days stayed, and two years probation with conditions including abstain from alcohol and drugs, complete 200 hours of Sentenced to Service and pay restitution. Additional charges of disorderly conduct were dismissed.
