Area boys basketball

MACCRAY 78, RTR 65

MACCRAY's Riley Aeikens finished with 29 points and Corey Abbas netted another 16 to push the Wolverines past Russell-Tyler-Ruthton for a 78-65 Camden Conference victory Friday in a battle between division leaders in Tyler.

The loss snapped an 11-game winning streak for the Knights.

MACCRAY, the North leader, improved to 7-0 in conference play, 11-3 overall, while the Knights fell to 7-1 in the Camden, 11-2 overall.

Brett Peterson led RTR with 23 points, while Phil Madsen hit a trio of three-pointers to finish with nine. Dylan Kor added six points and seven rebounds.

The Knights head to the R/A Facility at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall to face No. 2-ranked Southwest Minnesota Christian at 2:30 p.m. today.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton improved to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the Camden Conference, defeating Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 63-56 Friday in Kerkhoven.

Parker Lanoue hit nine field goals to finish with 22 points, while Taylor Hoffbeck hit four three-pointers en route to a 14-point night for the Panthers. Brian Fultz finished with six points and 11 rebounds.

The Fighting Saints (3-5 Camden, 3-9 overall) got a team-high 17 points from Jacob Zvorak.

TMB is in non-conference action Tuesday at Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

The Dawson-Boyd boys basketball team improved to 7-1 in the Camden Conference with a 79-57 win over Lincoln HI Friday night in Ivanhoe.

Jack Hansen hit three three-pointers, scoring 16 points for the Blackjacks (10-2 overall). He also had six assists. Nathaniel Huot tallied 18 points, Zach Stelter had 14 points and Joey Lee tallied 13 points, four steals and a pair of blocks.

Lincoln HI was led by Jeramie Blegen, who had 14 points and two blocks. Jordan Beck added 13 points in the loss.

The Rebels (6-6 overall, 5-3 Camden) host Elkton-Lake Benton Monday in Ivanhoe. Dawson-Boyd plays at home on Monday against Ortonville.

Kyle Kilgore scored 31 points and ripped down 16 rebounds, leading Adrian to a 76-68 Red Rock Conference win over Murray County Central Friday night in Slayton.

Kody Henning added 17 points for the Dragons, who led 39-21 at the half.

Trent Carlson paced the Rebels with 21 points and nine boards. Chris Halbur added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Dragons.

MCC drops to 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the conference after the loss. The Rebels will try to snap a two-game losing streak Thursday when they hit the road to play Fulda.

Red Rock Central jumped out to a 30-7 halftime lead on its way to an easy 64-49 victory over visiting Hills-Beaver Creek during Coaches vs. Cancer Night in Lamberton.

The Falcons got a big night from big man Henry Rogotzke, who had 26 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks. Jeff DeCock added 19 points, five assists and four steals, while Daniel Maras had 15 points and 10 rebounds.

HBC was led by Dylan Gehrke, who hit four three-pointers and had 17 points.

The Falcons improve to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in the Red Rock Conference following the win. They play at home on Monday against Sleepy Eye St. Mary's. HBC drops to 4-9 overall and 3-5 in the conference.

Wabasso junior guard Kimberly Frank scored her 1,000th point Friday night as the Rabbits blew past Cedar Mountain/Comfrey 57-32 in a Tomahawk Conference game played in Wabasso.

Frank scored 11 points with four assists and four steals. Chelsey Guetter and Ellen Franta each scored 13 points for Wabasso.

The Rabbits didn't allow any CM/C player to score more than six points in the game.

Wabasso (14-2 overall, 9-0 Tomahawk) resumes action Tuesday with a road game against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart.

Courtney Hinz powered Yellow Medicine East to a 46-41 West Central Conference win over Morris Area with 19 points, seven rebounds, four assists and five steals.

No other player reached double figures in scoring in the game.

Emily Baker and Kylie Jans eached added seven points for the Sting. Baker also had nine rebounds.

The Tigers were led by Katie Holzheimer and Tracy Meichsner, who each scored nine points.

YME improves to 8-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference following the victory. The Sting host Lac qui Parle Valley on Tuesday.

The Canby wrestling team picked up two wins at a home triangular Friday at Canby High School. The Lancers defeated MACCRAY/Renville County West 48-23 and took down Montevideo 51-18.

Jack Citrowske (120 pounds), Nick Stoks (126), John Deslauriers (145), Cedric Citrowske (152) and Matt Jelen (170/182) each went 2-0 for the Lancers. Both of Cedric Citrowske's wins were by pins.
