VESTA - Services for Herman H. Muehler, 69, of Vesta will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Joseph Vertin and Sons Funeral Home, Breckenridge.The visitation is from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The interment is at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Tenney.
He passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, following a courageous battle against cancer at his home.

Herman was born March 15, 1942, in Breckenridge, to Herman and Alma (McGlaughlin) Muehler. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Churches in Tyler and Fairmount, N.D. He graduated from the Fairmount Public School. In June 1962, he was united in marriage to Mary Jean Marwitz in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wahpeton, N.D. They lived in various areas in Minnesota and N.D. where Herman worked on farms, construction, sanitation, bakery, and semi-driver. In May 1989 he was united in marriage to Connie Thorpe in the United Methodist Church in Tenney. They made their home in Vesta. Herman went on disability, then Social Security and spent time doing general maintenance, lawn mowing, and snow blowing. Herman enjoyed playing cards (especially Rook) fishing in the warm months, gardening, spending time with family, bowling, anything involving a truck or tractor, and traveling.
Herman is survived by his wife, Connie of Vesta; children, Bonnie (Byron) Stelton of Ruthton; Michael of Wahpeton, N.D.; Katherine of Vesta and Tammy (Kevin) Perry of Gonzales, Texas; six grandchildren, Joshua Stelton, Travis (Ashley) Stelton, Marissa Rasmussen, Tessaray Rasmussen, Stephen (Charmayne) Perry, and Stephinie Perry; two great-grandchildren, Lukas Stelton and Logan Hernandez; siblings, Darrel (Scarlette) Muehler of Colonial Heights, Va., Alice Ellsworth of Breckenridge, Elaine Mitchell of West Fargo, N.D., Betty Bohn of West Fargo, N.D., Shirley (Gregor) Wegshied of Staples, Darline Carlson of Isanti, Sharon Solberg of Bismarck, N.D., Linda (Roger) Steffens of New Effington, S.D., and Patty (Dave) Zietlow of Great Bend, N.D.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alma Muehler; his children, Paula Kay, Bryan; his sisters, Phyllis Hennen, Helen Swenson, Elsie Muehler, and Doris Huelsman.
