Things were neck and neck for local "jockeys" in a mock horse race held at the Adult Community Center in Marshall on Tuesday afternoon. Six volunteers, including Frances Matthys, left, Diane Elton, Loretta Breczinski and Louie Vlamnick, each took charge of one horse, and rode forward when area seniors rolled their number on a set of dice. A floral wreath waited for the winning horse, and treats for their loyal fans.
