Shortly before tipoff was supposed to get underway for the Section 3A and 3AA playoffs on Tuesday, the decision was made to postpone games in both sections.

Tuesday's 3A sub-section semifinals, with the North in Marshall and South in Worthington, will now be played on Friday night at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively. At 6 p.m. Friday at the R/A Facility at Southwest Minnesota State, Minneota will take on Dawson-Boyd, and at 7:30 p.m., Canby takes on MACCRAY. In 3A-South play in Worthington Friday, Wabasso will take on Fulda at 6 p.m., and Southwest Minnesota Christian faces Adrian at 7:30 p.m.

The sub-section finals in both Marshall and Worthington, originally scheduled for Friday, will now take place on Monday.

Minneota head girls' basketball coach Chad Johnston said his team had just pulled into Marshall before he received the news.

"I got the call from my wife first, saying the games were postponed," Johnston said, "but I said we're not turning around until we hear from our Athletic Director (Harlen Ulrich). He called us soon after, and things are pushed back now."

Dawson-Boyd head girls' basketball coach Randy Haakenson added, "We were on our way to Marshall, and we got the call when we were in Clarkfield. So then we turned around and started going back home."

In Section 3AA, Tuesday's games in Montevideo and Jackson will also be pushed back to Friday, with the sub-section semifinals taking place in Montevideo (Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial vs. Redwood Valley at 6 p.m.; BOLD vs. Yellow Medicine East at 7:30 p.m.) and Jackson (Worthington vs. Pipestone Area at 6 p.m.; Windom Area vs. Fairmont at 7:30 p.m.). The sub-section finals will take place Monday.
