MINNEOTA - Services for Carl Hauschild, 83, of Minneota, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler. Spring burial will be at Arco City Cemetery. Arrangements are provided by Hartquist Funeral Home, Utoft-Johansen Chapel in Tyler.

He died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at his home.

Carl Henry Hauschild was born Dec. 16, 1928, to Carl and Caroline (Hass) Hauschild in Limestone Township, Lincoln County. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Island Lake Township. He attended Limestone Country School, then attended Morris Agricultural School in Morris for two years, graduating in 1946. On Jan. 14, 1953, Carl married Eloise Blegen at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. Their union was blessed with two daughters and 59 years of life together. Carl farmed all of his life in Limestone Township, where the couple made their home. He served 24 years as a Lincoln County Commissioner, served on DAC Board, Regional Development Board, RDC Board, Area II, RCRCA Board, and many other governmental boards. He retired in 2012.

Carl was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Arco. He was DFL Chairman of Lincoln County, and served on the Limestone Township Board for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, antique tractors, dancing (polkas), playing cards (500), and watching Molly B. He really enjoyed visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Eloise; daughters Kaye Lokken of Bonduel, Wis., and Joy (and Clyde) Bruns of Marshall; grandchildren Jennifer (and Lucas) Gregoire and Vicky Bruns; great-grandchildren Jared and Gavin; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Caroline; his stepfather, Alvin Thooft; and his brother, Leroy Hauschild.
