In the first round of the Section 2AAA tournament, the Marshall boys' basketball team will take on a familiar foe as the team prepares to defend its section title from a year ago.
The Tigers (18-8 overall) clinched the No. 3 seed in the section tournament, and will host sixth-seeded Mankato West (7-18) on Tuesday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
Marshall and Mankato West met in the Tigers' regular-season finale on Tuesday, with Marshall picking up a 73-69 victory over the Scarlets in Mankato.
The winner of Tuesday's game will face the winner of No. 2-seed Waconia and No. 7 New Ulm on March 10 at the high seed.
In other Section 2AAA play Tuesday, No. 1 Mankato East hosts No. 8 Dassel-Cokato, and No. 4 Willmar hosts No. 5 Hutchinson.
