ST. PAUL - In the first round of the Class A State High School Wrestling Tournament, the No. 3-seeded Minneota Vikings cruised to a 44-23 victory over Zumbrota-Mazeppa.
Picking up victories for Minneota were Bryce Bruner (113 pounds), Nicholas Esping (120), Andrew Swedzinski (132), Theodore Bueltel (138), Travis Longtin (145), Alex Lessman (152) Isaac Josephson (182), Adam Josephson (195) and Josh VanOverbeke (220).
At 1 p.m., the Vikings will take on No. 2 seed Kimball Area in the Class A semifinals. The Cubs toppled Barnesville 55-9 in their first-round match.
In other Class A action, No. 1 seed Jackson County Central defeated Pierz 52-15, and No. 4 Badger/Greenbush-Middle River was victorious over Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 39-30.
