THUMBS UP: We're relieved a stadium deal has finally been reached. Negotiations have been ongoing for some time now, numerous plans have been hatched concerning where the best site for a new stadium would be, how we're going to pay for it, but now it appears the issue has reached the point where legislators can get their hands on it. Let's hope this doesn't get dragged out anymore than it needs to, and that all the Ts can get crossed and Is dotted as soon as possible, so we can all move on and look forward to the Vikings staying in Minnesota where they belong.
Wrestlers at state
THUMBS UP: Congratulations to the Minneota Vikings wrestling team which has returned to St. Paul for another shot at a Class A title, and to the 28 individual wrestlers from around the area who will begin their journey to an individual state championship today. We wish all the grapplers the best of luck.
To our next president: Help us at the pump
THUMBS DOWN: You want our vote, President Obama? You want our support, Mitt Romney or Rick Santorum? Then tell us how you plan on bringing the price of a gallon of gas down and keeping it there. Convince us that you will do everything in your power to address an issue that continues to negatively affect every American driver's pocketbook. You can talk until you're blue in the face about how the economy has "rebounded," but how much is it really going to matter if everyone who drives an automobile can't afford to spend their money elsewhere when so much of it is going into our gas tanks? How are businesses that rely on delivering goods across the country going to keep their prices down when gas prices keep going up (besides passing those increased expenses on to the consumer)? High-ranking politicians and presidential candidates can tout economic growth all they want, but until gas prices drop and level off, their words are falling on a lot of deaf ears.
