GRANITE FALLS - Services for Richard "Dick" Duane Pederson, 84, formerly of Echo, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Rock Valle Lutheran Church of Rural Echo, with burial in the Echo City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, with prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home in Echo. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso is in charge of the arrangements.
He died March 11, 2012, at the Granite Manor in Granite Falls.
He was born Dec. 25, 1927, in Sioux Agency Township, Echo, to Melvin P. and Anna Olivia (Hustad) Pederson. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served two years as a pharmacist's mate in San Diego and New Orleans.
Survivors include his children, Dave of Echo, Dean of Beaumont, Texas, Penny of Eden Prairie and Patti of Eden Prairie; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Margaret Dybsand; and brother, Melvin Jr.
