Five of the Southwest Conference's seven boys' basketball teams each had two all-conference selections for the 2011-12 season.
For Marshall, which finished second in the conference with a 10-2 SWC record, senior guards Lee Christianson and Mason Schnaible each earned All-SWC honors. Schnaible led the Tigers' balanced offense in scoring, averaging 9.0 points per game. He also grabbed 4.1 rebounds per game to go along with 58 assists, 26 steals and a team-high 10 blocks. Christianson averaged 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. He was second on the team in assists (51) and had 34 steals.
Marshall senior Shawn Tykwinski earned honorable mention accolades as one of the top three-point shooters in the conference. He finished the season with a team-high 58 made three-pointers.
Southwest Conference champion Redwood Valley's Michael Busack and Alex Koster both earned all-conference honors. The Cardinals finished with an 11-1 conference record, with their only loss coming to Marshall. Worthington, which was third in the conference with an 8-4 record, also had two players earn all-conference honors in senior Mitch Weg (a future Southwest Minnesota State Mustang) and Lucas Henning.
