MINNEOTA - Mass of Christian Burial for Helen Boulton, 92, of Minneota, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota. Visitation will continue from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.

After a brief illness with leukemia, Helen died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Minneota Manor in Minneota.

Helen Emelia (Sorensen) Boulton was born March 17, 1920, to Axel and Alma (Nelsen) Sorensen on a farm in Palo Alto County, South of Ringsted, Iowa. She was a Dane with an Irish birthday. When Helen was in grade school, she moved with her family to Tyler, where she grew up on a farm and graduated from Tyler High School. On June 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to Robert Boulton at St. Edward Catholic Church in Minneota. The couple farmed and raised their family near Porter. In 1979, Helen and Robert moved to Minneota. They valued time in the summer at their cottage on Lake Darling in Alexandria and wintered in McAllen, Texas, for 15 years. They also enjoyed ballroom dancing. Helen was a very social person and cherished visiting with people and following her grandchildren's sporting activities. Everyone who came to visit Helen was very important to her; she loved company and activities. She also enjoyed playing bridge, reading, crossword puzzles and cryptoquip.

Survivors include her children Ronald (and Connie) Boulton of Andover, Gerald (and Jan) Boulton of Canby, Linda (and Tom) Andert of Brandon, Mark (and Deb) Boulton of Porter, Carol (and Bruce) Kack of Minneota; daughter-in-law Roberta Boulton of Canby; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother Harris (and June) Sorensen of Fairmont; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sons Roger and Gene, brother Harold Sorensen and sister-in-law Elin Bullerman.
