MARSHALL - Services for Winifred "Winnie" Johnson, 92, of Marshall, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rehkamp-Horvath Funeral Home in Marshall. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial be at the Willow Lake Cemetery.

She died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at her residence in Marshall.

Winifred “Winnie” Johnson

Winifred Stella (Knutson) was born Sept. 12, 1919, in Tracy, to Clarence and Caroline (Sandrow) Knutson. She grew up in Tracy and graduated from Tracy High School. In 1939, she was united in marriage to Raymond "Bud" Johnson. The couple lived in Minneapolis for a few years while Bud served in the military during World War II. After his honorable discharge, they moved to Marshall where Bud worked as a plasterer and Winnie did his bookkeeping. Winnie later worked for S & L Clothing Store for 25 years. She was an avid Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves fan and a lifelong Marshall Tiger Boys Basketball fan. Winnie enjoyed visiting with her friends and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons Lowell "Codge" (and Shirley) Johnson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Loren "Whitey" Johnson of Marshall; grandchildren Sara Cooper, Kari Young and Aaron Johnson; great-grandchildren Katherine Cooper, Ben Cooper, Jackson Young and Austin Young; step-great-grandchild Harley Isaacson; sister Bernice (and Gene) Christopherson of Waseca, nieces; nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-sisters Jean Palmer, Henry Knutson, Mary Sanderson Clarence Knutson, Esther Goodwin, Pearl Marcotte, Walter "Bud" Hansen and Norma Emerson.
