MARSHALL - Troy William Jones, 28, of Marshall appeared in Lyon County District Court April 3 on charges of first degree criminal sexual conduct. A complaint alleges Jones sexually assaulted a victim younger than 13 in a time period between August 2011 and March 16, 2012. A hearing was set for April 17. Public defender Pamela Neumann requested a reduction in bail for Jones, and Lyon County Attorney Rick Maes opposed the request, court records said. The court denied the request for lower bail.

MARSHALL - Christopher Colby Schentzel, 24, of Balaton pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court April 3 to charges of third degree driving while impaired, court records said. Schentzel drove in with an alcohol level of .11 in Tracy on Oct. 8, court records said. Schentzel was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail with 150 days stayed, pay an $800 fine, and two years probation with conditions including serve 30 days in jail with credit for one day served, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws. Additional charges of third degree driving while impaired were dismissed.

MARSHALL - James Lueck Harris, 31, of Marshall pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court April 3 to charges of second degree driving while impaired, court records said. Harris drove with an alcohol level of .2 in Marshall on Feb. 4, and had a prior DWI conviction in July, court records said. Harris was sentenced to serve one year in jail with 305 days stayed, pay an $800 fine and two years probation with conditions including serve 60 days in jail with credit for two days served, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws. Additional charges of driving after revocation and exhibition driving were dismissed.

MARSHALL - Julian Lamar Moore, 23, of Adrian pleaded guilty in Lyon County District Court April 3 to charges of third degree driving under the influence of a controlled substance - refusal to test, court records said. Moore drove while impaired in Marshall on Nov. 23, court records said. Moore was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail with 170 days stayed, pay a $700 fine, and two years probation with conditions including serve 10 days in jail with credit for 7 days served, obtain a chemical use assessment and abide by laws.

MARSHALL - Jacob David Buysse, 19, of Cottonwood was sentenced in Lyon County District Court April 3 for one count of predatory offender - violation of registration requirements. Buysse failed to notify authorities of a change in his employment in Lyon County on Dec. 14-15, court records said. Buysse was sentenced to serve one year and one day in prison, with credit for two days served, and to pay a $100 fine.
