Hoffman graduates from MSU

Doreen Hoffman of Marshall received her bachelor of human services, with honors, from Metropolitan State University Dec. 13, 2011, in St. Paul.

Patzer to perform in 'Princess and the Pea'

Hannah Patzer of Marshall was cast in Augustana College's upcoming production of Ernst Toch's "The Princess and the Pea" as "The Queen." The performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19 and Saturday, April 21; and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, in Kresge Recital Hall on the Augustana campus.

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for Augustana students, faculty and area K-12 students with identification. They are available at augietickets.com or by calling the Augustana Box Office at 605-274-5320.

MinnWest-Pipestone to have Spring Fling

Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Pipestone campus will have its Spring Fling Thursday. Prospective students and families are invited to come to the Pipestone campus to learn about specific programs and meet the advisers and instructors for the programs.

In addition to the program breakouts, students can get assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application (FAFSA). Anyone wanting help with the FAFSA should bring with them their 2011 Income Tax forms. Also, there will be additional information about housing, student senate as well as other campus and community services. Applicants will also have the ability to register for classes that day.

There will also be a grillout and ice cream sundae feed, followed by door prizes and awards. Comedian C. Willie Myles will also perform.

The day will conclude with ACCUPLACER testing or registering for summer or fall 2012 semester. Students who are planning to attend summer session are also strongly encouraged to come that day to register.
