Canby 9, RCW 2
Chris Kaddatz pitched a complete-game two-hitter to help lift Canby to a 9-2 Camden Conference win over Renville County West Thursday in Sacred Heart.
Kaddatz struck out nine, walked three and gave up one earned run in the win.
Tate Citrowske went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI for the Lancers. Cole Morris and Stephen Huber each had two hits and an RBI for Canby, while Cole Brusven had two hits and two RBIs.
RCW's Tucker Harazin had both of RCW's hits.
The Lancers improve to 1-1 with the win and will play Lac qui Parle Valley today in Canby.

Montevideo 3, YME 2
The Yellow Medicine East baseball team took Montevideo to extra frames on Thursday, but the Thunderhawks scored in the bottom of the ninth to edge the Sting 3-2 in West Central Conference action.
YME struck first, scoring in the third and took their second lead in the top of the sixth, but Montevideo tied it twice, once in the fourth and again in the bottom of the sixth.
Aaron Zieske pitched the first five innings for the Sting (1-2, 0-1 WCC), striking out six but walking four. Brendon Steckelberg went two innings, striking out one while walking three. Jake Sharkey took the loss for YME, pitching the final 1 1/3 innings, giving up the final run.
Adam Koepke was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Brandon Grund was 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored in the loss.
The Sting will be in action again on Tuesday when they play host to Renville County West.

Springfield 17, Lakeview 0
The Lakeview baseball team was blanked by Springfield 17-0 on Thursday in non-conference play.
Seth Boerboom took the loss for the Lakers (0-3), pitching the first two innings. Wyatt Schuster and Zack Doose also pitched in the loss.
Jacob Menage pitched the complete game for Springfield (3-0), scattering four hits over five innings.
The Lakers will be in action again on Monday when they travel to Dawson for a Camden Conference double header with Dawson-Boyd.

YME 12, Montevideo 8
The Yellow Medicine East softball team had its bats going Thursday, coming up with 12 hits in a 12-8 win over Montevideo in West Central Conference game in Montevideo.
Jennessa Hoffman went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the Sting offensively. Nena McCalla went 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs, while Allie Trudel had three hits and Courtney Hinz had two hits.
Trudel also got the win in the circle for YME, pitching all seven innings. She struck out seven batters, walked three and gave up 13 hits.
Jessica Janisch and Danielle Emkes each had three hits for Montevideo in the losing effort.
YME improves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play after the victory. The Sting take the field again today with a road game against MACCRAY.

Kendra Eichten hit two solo home runs to help power the Wabasso softball team to a 5-1 win over Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thursday in Wabasso.
Wabasso's Shawna Rogotzke went 2-for-3 with a triple, and Desi Kramer added a double.
Kimberly Frank earned the win in the circle for the Rabbits. She struck out five, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Eve Bleick had two singles for GFW in the loss.
Wabasso (2-1 overall) takes the field again Saturday when the Rabbits host a tournament in Wabasso.

Murray County Central scored six or more runs in three of five innings of a 21-10 win over Red Rock Centra/Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday in Sanborn.
MCC's Ashley Clarke went 2-for-4 in the game, hitting a grand slam in the third inning. Kendra Blomgren went 3-for-5 with a double, and Jada Giese went 2-for-3 with a double.
RRC/WWG's Kendra Haggert went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs. Klarissa Larsen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double.
RRC drops to 1-3 and will host Comfrey/Cedar Mountain today in Sanborn.

Lancer girls win at Monte
Playing in a girls' golf triangular in Montevideo, Canby finished with a score of 414 to finish in first place.
Leading the Lancers was Natalie Morris, who carded a 94. Taylor Gorder and Kristy Schmidt followed with rounds of 102 and 103, respectively.
Lakeview senior Steph Werner took medalist honors, scoring a 93. Hailey Matthys shot a 102, and Whitney Fischer carded a 105 for the Lakers.

Dawson-Boyd boys, girls win dual with YME
The Dawson-Boyd boys and girls golf teams each earned a dual win over Yellow Medicine East Thursday in Granite Falls.
The Dawson-Boyd boys earned a nine-stroke win, posting a 171 team score. Ryan Sumner shot a 39 to lead the Blackjacks, and Easton Popma shot a 41.
YME's low round came from Mitch McCosh, who shot a 41.
The Dawson-Boyd girls edged YME by a single stroke, winning with their team score of 171. Ashley Abraham had the low round for the Blackjacks, shooting a 39. Tracy Polzine added a 53.
YME Leah Jeseritz led the Sting with a 51.

Wabasso girls win, boys get second place in Hector
Balanced scoring helped lead the Wabasso Rabbits to a first-place finish in a high school girls' golf triangular Thursday in Hector.
Taylor Doubler and Sandra Brau each carded a 48 for Wabasso, which finished with a team score of 198. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart was second with 204, while Sleepy Eye St. Mary's was third with 256.
Briana Jenniges (49) and Jenna Henriksen (53) completed the Rabbits' scoring.
BLHS won on the boys' side with a score of 164, followed by Wabasso and SESM with 232 and 267, respectively.
Marcus Bruflat led Wabasso with a round of 48. Kyle Campbell (59), Shawn Zollner (62) and Chase Haase (63) rounded out the Rabbits' team score.
