Camden Senior game Saturday in Cottonwood

The Camden Conference Senior Basketball Games are scheduled to be held tonight at Lakeview High School in Cottonwood.

The girls' game will begin at 6 p.m., with the boys' game to follow.

The games will feature 2011-12 seniors from the 11 Camden Conference teams, including Canby, Central Minnesota Christian, Dawson-Boyd, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, Lakeview, Lincoln HI, MACCRAY, Minneota, Renville County West, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.

At halftime of the girls' game there will be a free-throw contest and a three-point contest. At halftime of the boys' game, a three-point contest and a dunk contest will be held.

Admission for the event is $4 for adults and $1 for students.

'Beat the Heat'

softball tournament in May

The Southwest Minnesota "Beat the Heat" Softball Tournament is scheduled to be held May 12-13 at the Marshall Softball Complex.

The event is a men's 16-team, double-elimination tournament.

There is a $150 entry fee for each team. Fees must be paid and an entry form must be returned before a team is officially entered.

The first-place team will take home $700, the second-place team will win $475, the third-place team will receive $350 and the fourth-place team wins $250. Payouts are based on a 16-team tournament.

Entry forms and fees must be submitted by no later than April 30, with a check payable to Gambler Softball Club. Checks should be sent to T.E.N., LLC Attn: Tron Nasers, 348 W. Main St. - Suite 109, Marshall, MN 56258. Also include a team name, a manager name and phone number, the city you play in and the class you play in.
