WOOD LAKE - Services for Vernon George Timm, 91, of Wood Lake Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service today at the church. Burial will be at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
The Sunset Funeral and Cremation Association of Echo and Wabasso is handling the arrangements.
He died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at the Riverside Assisted Living Center.
He was born on April 20, 1920 to Julius and Augusta (Todd) Timm in Wood Lake, Yellow Medicine County. He joined the United States Army and was a member of the 101st Airborne Division in Germany during WWII. He was honorably discharged.
Survivors include his two sons, Terry of Cottonwood and Brad of Wood Lake; one daughter, Pam Crenna of Maple Grove; four sisters, Verona Sachariason of Granite Falls, Alice Kvistad of Granite Falls, Dorothy Timm-Meili of Willmar and Harriet Mueller of Rochester; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
