Christensen throws no-no in Rebels' win
Austin Christensen was just two Murray County Central errors away from tossing a perfect game in the Rebels' 7-0 win over Southwestern United Tuesday in Heron Lake.
Instead, he'll settle for the complete-game no-hitter. Christensen struck out seven batters and didn't allow a walk while mowing through the Wildcats' batting order.
Chris Halbur gave Christensen all the run support he needed, tagging a two-run homer in the first inning. MCC's Nate Wieneke went 3-for-3 with a double, and Nick Petersen also had a strong day at the plate for the Rebels with two hits and two RBIs.
MCC improves to 4-1 overall and 4-0 in the Red Rock Conference with Tuesday's win. The Rebels continue conference play Thursday with a game against Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in Slayton.
