The NCAA Division II women's golf national committee announced on Monday that Southwest Minnesota State is one of nine teams selected to compete in the NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament from May 6-8 in Elephant Butte, N.M.

The selection marks the fourth straight year and the ninth year overall that the Mustangs have qualified for the NCAA regional tournament.

SMSU was seeded seventh in the nine-team championship. Augustana earned the region's No. 1 seed, while Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference schools Minnesota State-Mankato (2nd), Concordia-St. Paul (4th) and Winona State (8th) also qualified. Colorado-Mesa, Colorado State-Pueblo, Western New Mexico and Adams State (Colo.) round out the field.

The top three teams, along with the top three individuals not with a qualifying team from each region will head to the NCAA Division II National Championship on May 16-19 in Louisville, Ky.
