Murray County Central's Trent Carlson exploded for three hits, including a triple and double, and six RBIs to push the Rebels past Adrian 15-3 in Red Rock Conference play Tuesday in Slayton.
Sam Erickson got the win on the mound, striking out four and holding the Dragons to five hits. Austin Kluis and Kyle Vos each had doubles for MCC, which moves to 6-0 in the Red Rock and 7-1 overall.
The Rebels head to Lamberton Thursday to play Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

The Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove baseball team scored six runs in the first inning and four runs in the second innings of a 10-7 win over Southwestern United Tuesday in Heron Lake.
Daniel Maras led the RRC/WWG offense, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs. Henry Rogotzke and Jacob Comnick each added a double for the Falcons.
Taylor Vollmer got the start for RRC/WWG and pitched the first six innings, giving up two runs. He struck out five batters in the game.
The Falcons are now 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the Red Rock Conference. Thursday they will host Murray County Central in Lamberton.

Yellow Medicine East's Austin Thorstad allowed only five hits against BOLD on Tuesday, but the Sting fell to the Warriors 3-0 in West Central Conference play.
Thorstad pitched five innings in the rain-shortened game, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one and walking four.
The Sting (3-6, 0-5 conf.) were unable to string together any of their four hits in the loss.
The Sting will be in action again on Thursday when they play host to Montevideo in Granite Falls.

The Murray County Central softball team withstood an Adrian run midway through its Red Rock Conference game to win 9-5 on Tuesday.
Ashley Clarke pitched the win for the Rebels, going seven innings. She struck out seven, but walking eight and hitting one batter.
Makenzie Giese was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs in the win, while Kendra Blomgren and Sophie Nepp each added a double.
MCC (6-4 overall, 4-2 Red Rock) will be in action again on Thursday when it plays host to Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove in Slayton.

Red Rock Central/Westbrook-Walnut Grove's Aubrey Willhite pitched a two-hit shutout to give the Falcons their second win of the season.
RRC/WWG defeated Southwestern United 3-0 in Red Rock Conference action on Tuesday in Sanborn.
Willhite went seven innings, striking out four and walking none. Kali Davis was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI for the Falcons, while Angela Hannemann and Fern Engen added doubles in the win.
RRC/WWG is in action again on Thursday when it travels to Slayton to face Murray County Central.

The MACCRAY softball team struck for eight runs in the third inning of a lightning-shortened 14-5 win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Tuesday in Raymond. The game was called after MACCRAY batted in the top of the seventh and it was declared an official six-inning game.
The matchup was supposed to be a doubleheader, but the second game was not played and will be rescheduled.
Paige Ammermann had three hits and scored three runs to lead the Wolverines (7-1 overall) at the plate.
Alexis Buysse had three hits for TMB (8-4), while Jenny Welu was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Welu also took the loss in the circle, giving up 16 hits in six innings. She had one strikeout and one walk.

Madson medals for
Westbrook-Walnut Grove's Dana Madson tied for medalist honors with Windom's Adam Eisenmenger with a 37 in the weather-shortened WWG Invitational Tuesday.
Windom took the team title with a 161, edging out the Chargers by five strokes. Reed Bakken shot a 39 for WWG, while a pair of 45s from Taylor Lindaman and Nick Lehnhoff rounded out the top four.
Murray County Central took third with a 171. The Rebels were paced by Ben Loosbrock's 40. Devin Ryan (42), Grant Everson (43) and Adam Christensen (46) all counted towards the team total.
Red Rock Central shot a 186 on the day, led by Jordan Smith's 45. Casey Engen, Zach Valentin and Sykler Vold all shot 47.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton entered the clubhouse at 204, with Joe Felt leading the way at 47. Nathan Snell (51), Mike Nilius (53) and Devin Skalak (53) completed the Panthers' scores.
