Wabasso 13, Sleepy Eye 6
After play was suspended in the top of the fourth inning on Tuesday, the Wabasso softball team put the finishing touches on a Tomahawk Conference victory Wednesday, defeating Sleepy Eye 13-6 in Wabasso.
Desi Kramer led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run, and Alyssa Rothmeier went 3-for-4 for the Rabbits, who improved to 4-2 in the Tomahawk, 6-2 overall. Kimberly Frank got the win the in the circle, striking out seven in a complete game.
Wabasso hits the road today to play Comfrey/Cedar Mountain.

Wabasso, D-B, Lakeview, YME girls compete in Benson
In a 16-team girls' golf meet Wednesday in Benson, Litchfield topped the rest of the field with a team score of 361 to win the tournament.
Among local teams in Benson, Wabasso took the top score with a 404, good for sixth place. Lakeview (443) finished in a tie with Benson/Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg for 10th, while Dawson-Boyd took 13th with 452. Yellow Medicine East was incomplete.
Willmar's Raelin Setrom took medalist honors with an 83, beating Litchfield's Alex Tipka by three strokes. Lakeview's Steph Werner was the area's top shooter, carding an 89 for fourth place.

Wabasso girls win at New Ulm
On Tuesday in New Ulm, the Wabasso girls' golf team took first place in a Tomahawk Conference triangular with New Ulm Cathedral and Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop.
The Rabbits' Jenna Henriksen took medalist honors, carding a 46. Teammate Sandra Brau followed with a 47.
In the boys' meet, Wabasso took second place with a total score of 238, with GFW taking first (182).
GFW's Zach Haugen was the medalist after a round of 43. The Rabbits got their top round from Marcus Bruflat, who shot a 50. Shawn Zollner followed Bruflat, carding a 58.
