Flood warning extended

The National Weather Service out of Sioux Falls, S.D., on Sunday extended a flood warning in the area until 10 a.m. Monday. Anywhere from 4 to 7 inches of rain fell in southwest Minnesota on Saturday and Sunday. The warning includes Murray, Lincoln and Lyon counties. The Redwood River in Marshall rose to 12.77 feet Saturday into Sunday and was expected to crest at 13.9 feet - just below minor flood stage - Sunday. The river is expected to fall back under 12 feet Monday. In Russell, the river crested at 15.21 feet Saturday, more than a foot over minor flood stage. It fell back to 14.3 feet by 12:15 p.m. Sunday. Before Saturday, the river at Russell was at just above 9 feet.
