Budden receives scholarship award

Jackie Budden, special education program specialist with the SW/WC Service Cooperative, has received the Benson/Stenswick Scholarship Award for 2012.

The Benson/Stenswick Scholarship Award Program began in February of 1991 through MASE, the Minnesota Administrators for Special Education.

Scholarships are awarded to individuals completing exemplary graduate studies in the field of special education at a Minnesota public college or university. Budden is one of four recipients who will each receive $2,000.

Budden was nominated for the scholarship award by Tammy Stahl, Director of Special Education at the SW/WC SC and Klint Willert, superintendent at Marshall Public Schools.

They noted "Jackie's exemplary sense of responsibility and commitment to improving services for students in special education is incomparable and her enthusiasm for learning and teaching is contagious. Jackie has facilitated several initiatives that have resulted in positive outcomes for students such as better data collection methods, enhanced intervention implementation, and improved curriculum alignment and instruction."
