Russell Bandwagon Days will go on without the iconic bandwagon, which was demolished by the storm of July 1, 2011.
However, the city council decided on Tuesday to find someone to restore it by next year's 125th anniversary celebration.
Bandwagon Days will feature fishing, softball, and bean bag tournaments, and, of course, rolle bolle.
There will be a dance Saturday night featuring the music of Hicktown Mafia, and Sahlstrom Family Music will perform at Sunday mornings church service.
The 9th annual Russell Wagon Stampede Rodeo will open tonight with bull and bronc riding, barrel racing and mutton busting for the kids.
"We're giving away free cowboy hats to the first 100 kids on Friday night," said rodeo committee member Audie Sanderson.
