Unable to find the last out of the game, the Marshall A's squandered a lead with two outs in the ninth inning.
A two-out double, followed by a walk and a base hit to right-center allowed two Raymond runs to score in the bottom of the ninth as the Rockets won 8-7 Wednesday in Raymond.
The A's loss came in spite of a 10-strikeout performance from starting pitcher Nate Dickhausen, who pitched 8 2/3 innings.
Tyler Flattum started the scoring for the A's with a two-run homerun in the first inning. Jordon Kontz knocked in the A's third run in the top of the second. After adding four runs in the fifth, the A's bats went cold against Raymond reliever Tyler Knott.
The A's (1-2 Cornbelt, 8-4 overall) next take the field when they head to Irish Yard Friday to play Milroy in non-league action.
