In their first trip to Irish Yard, the Marshall A's made quick work of the Milroy Irish Friday in a 3-0 victory in seven innings.
Zach Olson picked up his second win of the season for the A's, tossing a complete game. He gave up just three hits to the Irish, all singles, while striking out five and hitting one batter.
Milroy got a solid outing from Tyler Peterson, who also pitched a complete game. He gave up three runs on nine hits. He also struck out three batters and walked two.
Brandon Wilhelmi had a game-high three hits for the A's. Kyle Young added two hits, one of which was a two-run single in the sixth inning that put Marshall on top 3-0.
The A's, who had lost four of their last five games entering Friday's contest, improve to 9-4 following the victory. Today's game against Granite City has been postponed. Marshall will return to action Sunday with a 6 p.m. home game against Bird Island.
The Irish will play two home games on Sunday. The first game will be at 1 p.m. against Pipestone, while the second will be at 4:30 p.m. against Mountain Lake.
