Outland Energy Services awarded services contract by Consumers Energy
Consumers Energy has awarded Outland Energy Services a service contract to provide construction/commissioning-period support, and operations, maintenance, and remote monitoring services at the 100.8 MW Lake Winds Energy Project in Mason County, Michigan. The project is comprised of fifty-six Vestas V100 1.8 MW wind turbines and is expected to begin commercial operation in October, 2012.
"Outland's collaboration with Consumers Energy is an example of how Outland can provide an asset owner with the best possible value for commissioning, operations, maintenance, and remote monitoring from the very start of a project's life," said Steve Scott, president and CEO of Outland. "Our team is looking forward to ensuring a successful project for Consumers."
Consumers Energy is Michigan's second-largest electric and natural gas utility, providing service to more than 6 million of the state's 10 million residents in all 68 counties in the Lower Peninsula. Consumers Energy is the principal subsidiary of Jackson-based CMS Energy Corporation.
"Consumers conducted an exhaustive evaluation of service providers and engaged Outland because of its solid reputation for providing safe, high-quality services, and its willingness to customize its offerings to meet our needs," said Bill Schoenlein, manager of hydro and renewable generation for Consumers Energy.
Canby-based Outland Energy Services is an independent service provider in the wind energy industry. Outland provides a full range of wind turbine operations and maintenance services to original equipment manufacturers, investor-owned utilities, municipal power agencies, and independent power producers.
