Gullickson named to dean's list at UW-Madison

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the dean's list for the spring semester of the 2011-2012 academic year. Ryan Gullickson of Currie was named to the dean's list.

Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the dean's list, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own grade point average requirements for students to be eligible to receive the honor.

Novotny named to dean's list at the University of Minnesota, Morris

Claren Novotny of Minneota has been named to the University of Minnesota, Morris dean's list for the 2012 spring semester. To be eligible for the dean's list, students must achieve a grade point average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits.

Moede named to the spring 2012 dean's list at CSS

Hayley Moede of Marshall was named to the spring 2012 dean's list at the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Dean's list members have achieved a 3.75 grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale.

Area students named to Augustana's dean's list

Augustana College announced that the following area students have been named to the dean's list for the spring semester of the 2011-2012 academic year: Bethany Ahlers, Alison Champine, Kimberly Homan, Amy Konietzko and Hannah Patzer, all of Marshall.

The dean's list recognizes full-time students who have a minimum of 10 credit hours with grade point averages at 3.5 or above.

Iowa Lakes Community College announces honors list

Valerie Newhouse, president of Iowa Lakes Community College, has released the spring honors list of full-time students (12 credits or more) who have demonstrated academic excellence by earning a grade point average of 3.25 (based on a 4.00) or higher. Amber Grengs of Taunton was named to the list.

Spring semester students who have achieved a 3.25 grade point average or better are recognized by inclusion on the dean's list.

Minnesota State College-SE Technical announces graduates

Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical Red Wing and Winona announce the graduating class of 2012. Commencement ceremonies were May 7 at Winona State University, McCown Gymnasium.

Courtney Jeseritz of Wood Lake received an associate in science degree in nursing.

Local students named to dean's list at UMD

The University of Minnesota-Duluth has announced its dean's list for spring semester 2012. Students on the dean's list have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Local students named to the list are:

Cottonwood: Camille Doom. Dawson: Courtney Milbeck, Ashley Tensen. Marshall: Emma Larson, Brock Rysdahl, Evan VanderZiel. Russell: Dylan Demuth.

Syring named to ISU dean's list

Kristie Syring of Granite Falls was among the more than 5,465 Iowa State University undergraduates who have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2012 spring semester dean's list. Students named to the dean's list must have earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.

Local students named to president's roll of honor at VCSU

Brittany Kockelman of Canby and Stephanie Engelstad of Hendricks were named to the president's roll of honor at Valley City State University. The president's roll of honor recognizes students who complete 12 semester hours or more with a grade point average of 4.0.

Hoversten awarded national FFA scholarship

The National FFA Organization awarded a $1,000 Archer Daniels Midland Company scholarship to Emma Hoversten of Marshall High School FFA. ADM, as a special project of the National FFA Foundation, sponsors the scholarship. Hoversten plans to use the funds to pursue a degree at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

This scholarship is one of 1,539 awarded through the National FFA Scholarship program this year. Currently, 130 sponsors generously contribute more than $1.9 million to support this program.
