To the editor:
Dear Friends: Have you ever seen a miracle? Well, the next time you see me you will be looking at one.
NO, it's not me. I was used by the Lord to let you know He is listening to your prayers. He was listening when hundreds of people prayed that I have strength and have a positive outcome as I faced my battle with colon cancer.
My journey began on May 28 when, after much prodding by my doctor, insurance company, family and friends, I finally had a routine colonoscopy. It showed two cancerous masses. Two days later a cat scan confirmed the diagnosis - almost certainly Stage III Cancer. I was stunned! What was happening to me? On June 12 I had surgery in Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Everything went well. The pathologist's report said Stage IIB - the cancer had not perforated the colon wall and was not in the lymph nodes - NO chemo. What a miracle!
My journey is not over but it's hard to believe I'm on the mend. Lesson learned: Prayer produces miracles and a colonoscopy can take away the need.
I give thanks to the Lord, to each of you, all the doctors and medical staff who made my miracle of Life and Love happen. Thank you.
