Marshall Blue 2
Limited to one inning of scoring, the Marshall VFW Blue team was defeated by Alexandria 5-2 Wednesday in a nine-inning game Marshall.
Adam Kovash got the start for Blue and went the first seven innings, giving up five runs on seven hits and three walks. He also struck out three batters. Conner Mesman pitched the final two innings, allowing just one hit.
Marshall had seven hits in the game and scored both of its runs in the third inning.
Kovash went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI. Riley Sharbono was also 2-for-4, while Bryce Johnson and CD Douglas each went 1-for-3 with two walks and a run scored.
Marshall Blue (9-5 overall) continues play today at 6:30 p.m. with a home game against Tracy at Southwest Minnesota State.

Leavenworth 6
A walk-off error by Leavenworth pitcher Andy Cook helped the Lamberton Long Sox escape with a 7-6 win Wednesday night in a Tomahawk East League game in Lamberton.
With his team tied entering the bottom of the ninth, Lamberton's Colby Pack laced a double off the wall to lead off the inning for Lamberton. Holden Salfer then dropped down a sacrifice bunt to move Pack forward, but Cook fielded the ball and threw it past the first baseman for an error, allowing Pack to go home for the winning run.
Leavenworth finished the game with four errors.
Pack went 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI. He also worked the first five innings, giving up three runs.
Mike Wotschke went 3-for-5 with a double for the Long Sox, and Johnny Pistulka was 2-for-5 with a triple.
Leavenworth got a big game from Chris Reinarts, who was 3-for-5 with two doubles and knocked in four of the Orioles' runs.
The Long Sox improve to 17-3 overall and 13-1 in Tomahawk East play. They take on Hanska July 5 in Lamberton.
